Cabin Luggage for Ryanair

Ryanair measures bags closely at the gate, and a suitcase that's a couple of centimetres over the limit can mean a fee, often around £70 or more if you're caught out. Eminent's Ryanair collection is built to the airline's exact allowances, so you can check the size before you fly rather than find out at the gate.

    Ryanair Hand Luggage Allowance

Every Ryanair fare includes one free bag, and Ryanair's paid Priority Boarding add-on includes a second, larger one:

    • Free personal bag: up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm, no weight limit stated, must fit under the seat in front of you
    • Priority cabin bag: up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm and 10 kg, only available with Priority, goes in the overhead locker in addition to your free bag

A wheeled suitcase isn't part of the free allowance. Without Priority, you're limited to the smaller underseat bag. Rules and fees change, so check the current terms on the Ryanair baggage page before you fly.

Cabin Suitcases Built to Ryanair's Exact Allowance

Our 55 x 40 x 20 cm cabin suitcases match Ryanair's Priority allowance exactly, not the deeper 23 cm depth some cabin suitcases use for other airlines. A few things that follow from that:

    • The measurement includes wheels and handles, the same way Ryanair measures at gates like Stansted and Luton, so the size on the label is the size that clears the sizer
    • It's the tightest of the major low-cost carriers, so if you also fly Wizz Air, easyJet or similar airlines out of a UK airport, a suitcase built for Ryanair fits comfortably within their larger allowances too
    • If you're on the free personal bag instead, our laptop backpacks and underseat luggage are built to that smaller, under-the-seat size

Durable Ryanair Cabin Suitcases Built to Last

A cabin suitcase for regular Ryanair trips needs to survive a lot of flights without needing replacing. That's how we build ours:

    • 35 quality checks on every new design before it is released
    • A TSA-approved lock and smooth 360° spinner wheels as standard
    • A warranty of 2 to 7 years, depending on the model
    • A lightweight suitcase is worth considering if you'd rather the case itself weigh as little as possible, leaving more of your 10 kg for what you're packing

    Frequently Asked Questions

No. Without Priority, you're limited to the free personal bag, up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm, which fits under the seat. A wheeled cabin suitcase needs Priority added to your booking.

It's measured against a sizer, and if it doesn't fit, you'll be charged to check it in on the spot, a fee that's often significantly more than paying for Priority in advance. Buying and packing to the exact allowance beforehand avoids this.

Often, yes. At 55 x 40 x 20 cm, Ryanair's Priority bag is tighter than the allowance on several other airlines, including some other low-cost carriers, so a case built for Ryanair tends to fit elsewhere too.

Usually. A suitcase built to Ryanair's 55 x 40 x 20 cm limit fits within the larger allowances those airlines use, making it a safe choice if you fly more than one low-cost carrier out of the UK.
